Head of Product Development
Tel Aviv, Israel
We are looking for an experienced Head of Product Development to join our team.
As a Head of Product Development, your main focus will be to further manage Chunk’s Food product development team and guide technology and food product innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Food technologists and Engineers
- Manage timelines and resource allocation
- Guide the development of formulations & processes
- Develop quantitative and qualitative methods to characterize the product’s sensory, safety, shelf-life and nutritional gaps
- Manage and conduct consumer/expert sensory panels
- Manage relationships with ingredient suppliers, consultants, and flavor companies
- Develop products for scale-up production
- Work in collaboration with the R&D leadership team (Biology, Process Engineering) to define the company’s goals
- Develop a QA/QC plan
- Plan and manage, in collaboration with other team members, the company’s first pilot site
Requirements:
- B.Sc. degree in food technology, food science, food engineering, biotechnology
- >5 years of experience in food product development and food process scaleup
- Excellent understanding of food systems chemistry and biology
- Ability to work in a scientific environment, design experiments and quickly interpret scientific data and literature into product ideas and improvements
- Willing and happy to do hands on work and work long hours when needed
- Experience in production facility operations
- Proven managerial experience
- Excellent English and Hebrew
The perfect candidate also has:
- Good understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and HACCP
- Additional scientific education such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology or materials science
- Culinary experience
